Founded in 1926, we are the oldest early childhood PTA in Texas.
Our focus is to build friendships that will last into the school-age years and beyond.
We reflect the diversity of our neighborhood and thrive on our common love for our kids and our community. The connections that develop through meetings, playgroups, and community events are what have sustained RECPTA for over 90 years.
What We Do
-
General Member Meetings
We host General Member Meetings (GMMs) on the third Tuesday of each month at different locations and member residences across Oak Cliff.
GMMs are an opportunity to get updates on RECPTA events, community activities, and learn more about various parenting topics from special guest speakers.
-
Playgroups
We host Playgroups on the fourth Saturday of the month at Annie Stevens Park to bring RECPTA families together for some outdoor fun!
Please note, we will not be hosting Playgroups in December or January this year. See our events calendar for exact dates.
-
Sunshine Deliveries
We deliver gift baskets to RECPTA families who have recently welcomed a new baby.

-
Community Service
We coordinate and participate in various service events throughout the year that support & impact our local community.
-
Seasonal Events
We host seasonal events throughout the year as a fun way to connect and get festive together!
-
Members' Night Out
Every parent needs a night out every once in a while, so we host adult-only gatherings for RECPTA members to enjoy some good food, drink and uninterrupted conversation.
